FORT MYERS, Fla.- A woman is under arrest for allegedly leaving four young children unsupervised.

Officials say 22-year-old Victoria Parks left her three children in her apartment alone for over an hour.

The fourth child belonged to Parks' sister.

Neighbors called police to the scene after seeing two of the children alone outside.

According to officials, the door to Parks' apartment was left open.

After calling several times, officers determined there was no adult present and entered the apartment to find a small child sleeping on the floor and a crying newborn infant inside the master bedroom.

Parks later arrived at the apartment and told officers she had only gone to get the mail and had not been gone very long.

Officials say Parks mentioned she was a single mother and that she was told to walk out of the apartment when she needed a break.
