SARASOTA COUNTY, Fla.- The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office arrested a Venice man for reportedly molesting a girl who previously lived in a therapeutic foster home that he ran with his then-wife.

The victim was 14 when the crimes began, and recently told a caseworker that 44-year-old Harvey Dorey was a "pedophile." The caseworker asked what the girl meant and she disclosed that Dorey had molested her on multiple occasions over a period of about a year, deputies say.

Dorey, who is employed by the Sarasota County School Board as a school psychologist, was taken into custody this morning at North Port High School. He is charged with Lewd or Lascivious Molestation and Lewd or Lascivious Conduct and is currently being held on $100,000 bond.
