CAPE CORAL, Fla.- Cape Coral Police arrested 23-year-old Lorenzo Alberto Bustamante yesterday evening, after an argument between roommates turned violent Friday night.

According to police, Bustamante was visiting a home on the 2100 block of SE 19 Place Friday night when the argument broke out. Bustamante is accused of shoving one of the tenants into his bedroom, then arming himself with an aluminum baseball bat. The first victim reportedly closed and blocked the door in an attempt to keep Bustamante out, but he bashed the door repeatedly with the bat, striking the first victim in the process.

Bustamante saw the first victim arm himself with a folding knife through the hole in the door. Bustamente then allegedly armed himself with a machete and began hacking at the door. Meanwhile, the second victim, who was in fear for her safety, called 911. The first victim attempted to grab the machete when it came through the door, resulting in a laceration on his hand.

As Bustamante forced his way into the room, both victims retreated to a far corner. Bustamante was, according to the victims, still armed with the machete and was holding a "handy-cam" in the other, recording them. Bustamante saw that one of the victims was on the phone with 911 and fled the scene prior to police arrival.

Yesterday at around 11:20 p.m., Cape Coral Police located Bustamante and took him into custody without incident.
