FORT MYERS, Fla.- A Fort Myers woman, arrested for allegedly having marijuana in her car, is in more trouble after leaving her young children alone late at night.

Fort Myers Police say Devion Johnson was driving with her headlights turned off around 12:15 a.m. today on Evans Ave. near Palm Ave.

Johnson was reportedly acting suspiciously and could not provide police with insurance and registration papers. According to her arrest report, a K9 alerted to the presence of narcotics, and two marijuana roaches and a plastic bag with marijuana inside were found in the vehicle. Police say several pieces of marijuana were also found throughout the car.

After being placed under arrest for drug possession, FMPD says Johnson asked if she could call her grandmother because she had left her 2-and-4-year-old children alone at her residence. Police officers went to Johnson's house and made entry, using her key. The children were located and were unsupervised. FMPD also made contact with Johnson's grandmother, who lived nearby.

Johnson was then additionally charged with child neglect.

The Department of Children and Families made a report of the incident.
