LEHIGH ACRES, Fla.- Lee County Sheriff's deputies have taken two people into custody on Haviland Ave. this afternoon, following a pursuit.
According to LCSO, a deputy tried to conduct a traffic stop on Tice St. and Ortiz Ave., but the vehicle hit another patrol car and fled the scene. The vehicle was later apprehended at Haviland Ave. and SR 82.
The suspects' vehicle appears to have slammed into a tree.
It is unknown whether anyone was injured.
"It all happened to fast, I looked back to see a gray car and police cars coming towards me very quick," said Jacquline Ramos.
Lee County Deputies say this wild chase started after they tried pulling over two men inside a silver car near the intersection of Tice Street and Ortiz Avenue in Fort Myers.
The guys took off slamming into a deputy's cruiser.
"He is coming very fast towards me," said Ramos.
Jaqculine Ramos was in the car with her three little girls and her sister when the suspects forced her off the road.
"There is like every police car I have ever seen in my life and the helicopter chasing down the car that is behind me," said Ramos.
Ramos says the silver car was driving erratically and speeding, but then it came to a sudden stop 10 miles away at state road 82 and Haviland Avenue in Lehigh Acres.<
"He made a very sharp left going very fast and crashed in to the bushes," said Ramos.
That's where another woman, Crissy, saw the two men jump out of the car and took off on foot.<
"Another cop comes towards me with his riffle and my kids were like woah," said Crissy.
Crissy says Deputies even searched her trunk right before the two men were caught and arrested.
"I was scared. They were just right in front of me with guns and I have never had that shown,:" said Crissy.
WINK News still does not know the identities of the two men arrested.
