PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla.- Six months after a deadly boating accident, the man investigators are holding responsible has turned himself in, and bonded out of jail.

Florida Fish and Wildlife officers arrested Bruce Vilardi yesterday. He was held on more than $225,000.

Just days before Christmas, investigators say Vilardi was driving a boat off the coast of Englewood, when it collided with a jet ski and killed the rider.

The victim's wife in Kansas told WINK News, "I'm glad. I think it's been a long time coming...I think he's obviously a danger to the people around him, and he has a total disrespect and lack of regard for the laws of Florida."

Vilardi is charged with boating under the influence of alcohol and vessel homicide.
