FORT MYERS, Fla. -  Two people are recovering after an early Wednesday morning shooting at the Palm Apartments off Hanson Street in Fort Myers.

Fort Myers Police say Antoinette Thomas, 16, was shot in the stomach and was taken to Lee Memorial Hospital. Also, Javarcia Riggins, 18, was shot in the hand. He drove himself to the hospital. Today is his birthday.

"Me and my old man was sitting out there and stuff and we heard like boom boom boom," said Marilyn Robinson. "And seen like it just I don't know if it was a drive by or what, and police come from all directions and stuff."

As of right now, Fort Myers Police tell WINK News they have no information regarding who the shooter may be. Detectives are actively investigating the incident and trying to determine the motive behind the shooting.
