LEE COUNTY, Fla.- Lee County Sheriff's deputies arrested 23-year-old Jeremy Toles Tuesday for allegedly biting and bruising a toddler who had been left in his care.

The victim was brought to Cape Coral Hospital with a bite mark to her face, bruising to her head, butt and arms, and an apparent bite mark to her pelvic area.

Her mother brought her in because she noticed the apparent bite mark while changing her diaper. She had noticed random bruises on the child that had gotten worse over the past month. No one besides Toles had watched the child, and she doesn't go to day care. The victim's mother had even purchased a nanny camera because of her suspicions about the bruises. When confronted, Toles allegedly denied knowing about the bruises, but said he bit the baby to teach her a lesson.

When detectives attempted to meet with Toles, they discovered that he had reportedly sent a text to a friend that read, "I know I'm going to jail."

Based on the totality of the investigation, Toles was located on the 7700 block of Grady Dr. and arrested for cruelty toward a child.
