LEE COUNTY, Fla.- A seven year search ended Thursday night, with fugitive Wesnel Isaac in handcuffs. He's now facing charges of triple murder, kidnapping, and robbery.
"He's a guy that needed to be in jail. That's exactly where he's at."
One of the nation's 15 most wanted criminals, detectives say, Iasaac fled to Haiti after committing a string of violent crimes in Lee County.
Haitian Police captured him last Saturday.
"No fight he went quietly," said Deputy US Marshal John Kinsey.
He was wanted for a brutal triple murder in 2007.
Three men kidnapped, taken to a neighborhood in Lehigh Acres and shot in the head. Their bodies discovered in an abandoned car. Only a month before, Isaac allegedly shot a man, for not returning a rental car.
He's a documented member of the Zoe Pound gang, where he allegedly worked as an enforcer. Detectives say, the group once controlled much of the drug trade in North Fort Myers, but was eventually snuffed out by authorities.
WINK News pulled his records. Isaac has been arrested around three dozen times. Crimestoppers tells WINK News, Isaac "led his life consumed with violence and intimidation and did so successfully untill today."
"We are very proud of it. Brought a 7 year fugitive investigation to an end," said Kinsey.
A $25,000 reward had been offered for information on Isaac. Kinsey says someone will get that money.
Isaac will make his first appearance before a Lee County judge Friday morning.
Count on WINK News to be there.
