BONITA SPRINGS, Fla. - Donnie Deruiter, 41, faces serious federal charges, accused of receiving and/or distributing images involving child porn. Deruiter is also charged with possessing those images.

He made his first appearance before a judge Monday.

The goverment is asking to keep him in custody. That will be decided Wednesday.

WINK News went to his neighborhood in Bonita Springs Sunday night.

"Knowing this individual, yes I would expect this from him," said a neighbor, who for his own safety, did not want to be on camera.

As you heard, neighbors say they aren't surprised.

"With that house, it's cloak and dagger. It's been that way since I can remember," said another neighbor.

Deruiter has a long history of getting into trouble with the law, and bringing that trouble to Jolly Roger Lane for 20 years.

"We have a lot of people coming and going, cars, two minute deals, one guy runs out to the window," said the neighbor.

Most recently Lee County deputies arrested Deruiter Thursday, for drug possession. His fifth arrest in Lee County since 2001. On Friday, federal agents took him away in handcuffs.

WINK News learned the Department of Children and Families was there too. DCF took two children, belonging to another renter, away from the home. Now considered an alleged child pornographer, neighbors want Deruiter out for good.

"He should stay in a federal holding cell," said one neighbor.

"I hope the authorities take action, put this to rest, and we can move on," said the other.

WINK News also spoke to the man who rents the home, he says Deruiter doesn't have a drug problem, and there have never been children living in the home. When we asked him about previous arrests and DCF involvement, he said he had no idea what we were talking about.
