PUNTA GORDA, Fla.- Charlotte County Sheriff's deputies arrested 69-year-old Ronald Williamson yesterday for sexual battery on a 14-year-old with Soto Syndrome and autism.

According to the arrest report, Williamson abused the victim in December of 2012 and told the girl not to say anything.

During the investigation, deputies made contact with the victim's mother, who said Williamson was aware of the victim's condition. The victim's mother told deputies that an incident in February of this year prompted her question the girl about Williamson. That's when the abuse was discovered. The victim's mother said at that time, she caught Williamson showing the victim pornography and that she cut off contact between the two immediately.

The victim allegedly shared graphic details with her mother regarding what Williamson had done to her on several occasions. These allegations were then shared with the Child Assessment Center.

Williamson was located and interviewed by deputies.

Based on the totality of the investigation, deputies found probable cause to believe Williamson had committed sexual battery. He was transported to the Charlotte County jail.
