CAPE CORAL, Fla.- Cape Coral Police have arrested a 15-year-old for a string of "car-hopping" burglaries in the Northeast corner of the city.

Patrol officers investigating the rash of burglaries developed a suspect and made contact at the juvenile’s residence. A cooperative parent allowed officers to conduct a consent search of the juvenile’s room. Inside, numerous items from auto burglaries that took place between January 21 through January 28, 2014 in neighborhoods near Del Prado Boulevard and Diplomat Parkway were discovered.

The teen allegedly confessed to detectives and directed them to various locations, pointing out where burglaries were committed. Cape Coral Police are still in the process of returning property to victims.

In total, the juvenile was charged with 19 counts of Burglary and Theft. Additional suspects have been identified and the investigation is ongoing at this time.
