COLLIER COUNTY, Fla.- Collier County Sheriff's deputies arrested 34-year-old Eddie Cavazos yesterday for sexual battery and molestation on a victim under the age of 12.
Cavazos was transported back to Collier County from Texas after an investigation revealed he allegedly touched a young girl inappropriately on at least 10 occassions, with the last time being in October of 2013.
The victim was brought to Physician's Regional Medical Center on November 17, 2013, according to Cavozos' arrest report, after telling her mother she was in pain and saying Cavazos had "touched her in her area."
The victim told authorities that after school, she would go outside to play, and Cavazos would invite her and another child over for pizza and video games. Once at his house, the victim said Cavazos would take her into a bedroom, tell her to take her clothes off and then touch her inappropriately. The victim said the suspect used his "private area" on her as well. After the abuse, they would go back to the living room and play.
When asked when the last time was that the abuse had occurred, the victim could only say it was a few weeks ago, but stated that it had happened more than 10 separate times.
The victim was treated at the hospital.
According to the Collier County Sheriff's Office, Cavazos travelled to Texas during the course of the investigation. A warrant for his arrest was issued on January 29th. He was located by authorities in Texas and extradited back to Collier County.
