PUNTA GORDA, Fla.- The Punta Gorda Police Department arrested Tallahassee residents Tuesday afternoon, after Walgreens employees allegedly witnessed them shoplifting.

The male suspects exited Walgreens, entered a black, Nissan Altima, driven by a female, and left the parking lot. Store employees were able to provide the police a description of the car, to include, a license plate number. An officer in the area quickly located the vehicle and conducted a stop in the parking lot of CVS, located at 2400 Tamiami Trail.

Officers transported the suspects back to Walgreens where store employees positively identified them as the people responsible for the theft. Although there was a minimal amount stolen from Walgreens, there was hundreds of dollars of suspected stolen items from other retail stores within the vehicle.

During the investigation, officers also found cocaine in the sock of one of the suspects. The driver of the vehicle was not charged, however; the vehicle, which was a rental, was towed from the scene.

Further investigation is underway in regards to the other suspected stolen property.

Those arrested include:

-Shawnon L Robinson, 49, of 480 Tennessee Street, Tallahassee, Florida. Charges included; Possession of a Controlled Substance (Cocaine), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Retail Theft.

-Clifford Lydell Goode, 34, of 480 Tennessee Street, Tallahassee, Florida. Clifford Goode was charged with Retail Theft.
