CAPE CORAL, Fla.- Cape Coral Police arrested Neal Joiner, of 3123 NW 16th Place, on charges of marijuana cultivation, possession with intent to sell, and paraphernalia charges, after finding a small marijuana growing operation in his home.

Cape Coral Police Department Vice, Intelligence, and Narcotics (VIN) Detectives were conducting surveillance on Joiner's residence prior to the execution of a search warrant when Joiner and a female companion left the residence in a yellow Jeep. A traffic stop was conducted on Joiner a short distance away form the home for a minor traffic infraction. A K-9 sniff of Joiner's car led officers at the stop to discover a small amount of marijuana in the visor above the driver's (Joiner's) seat. Joiner was arrested for possession of marijuana (under 20 grams).

While under arrest at the traffic stop location, VIN Unit Detectives notified Joiner of the search warrant. Cape Coral Police Department SWAT officers executed the warrant and cleared the residence. Items of drug paraphernalia (glass bongs, scale with marijuana residue, mason jars containing marijuana, and ziplock baggies containing marijuana) were located inside the residence. In a bedroom closet was a small, but elaborate cultivation operation with lights, fans, and timers where four marijuana plants were located. The items were seized as evidence and Joiner was transported to Lee County Jail.
