PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla.- Charlotte County Sheriff's deputies arrested Todd Carpenter on Friday for allegedly littering more than 500 lbs. of commercial waste from his landscaping business onto vacant lots near his home.
While patrolling the area, a deputy found two vehicle paths cut into two vacant lots on the 12000 block of Mellon Ave. Upon further inspection, the deputy found piles of what appeared to be commercially generated landscaping debris.
It was discovered that the one resident in the neighborhood is also the owner of New Z-Land Lawn & Landscaping. The deputy looked up the owners of the vacant lots and were informed that they had not give permission to store any solid waste on the property.
Carpenter was interviewed on Friday, and based on the evidence, arrested for littering.
