MERRITT ISLAND, Fla. (AP) - A 20-year-old central Florida woman faces aggravated child abuse charges after her 11-week old child suffered a traumatic brain injury.

Brevard County Sheriff's officials say Victoria Constance Bennett and her husband brought the unresponsive child to the hospital on Jan. 3.

The child was transferred to Arnold Palmer Hospital in Orlando, where doctors determined the injuries were consistent with "shaken baby syndrome." Officials say the baby is suffering from seizures and partial paralysis.

Florida Today (http://on.flatoday.com/1krSlan ) reports Bennett was released from jail on community supervision following a first appearance hearing on Tuesday.

An arrest report says Bennett became frustrated when the baby wouldn't eat or stop crying.
