CAPE CORAL, Fla.- Cape Coral Police arrested a man who allegedly shined a laser pointed at a commercial aircraft and a Lee County Sheriff's Office helicopter on Saturday night.
Stephen Plock, 51, faces charges of Misuse of Laser Lighting Devices, which is a third degree felony.
Just before 10:30 p.m., a commercial aircraft inbound to the Southwest Florida International Airport reported the incident to authorities. An LCSO helicopter advised that three subjects standing outside of a residence on the 3000 block of SW 26th Ct. had also shined the laser on their chopper, before going back inside the residence. LCSO had video of this incident.
Cape Coral Police made contact with Plock and the others, who were minors. Plock initially denied knowledge of a laser, but eventually admitted to shining a laser at the sky while outside with the children. According to the report, Plock admitted to seeing the plane and helicopter. Plock was arrested and taken to the Lee County Jail.
