FORT MYERS, Fla.- Fort Myers Police arrested two people and seized a large amount of drugs while serving two search warrants this morning.
Tony Crews, 38, faces charges of possession of cocaine with the intent to sell within 1,000 feet of a school and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Jamar Crews, 28, faces charges of sale of cocaine and possession of cocaine and felony violation of probation.
At 6:45 a.m. today, the Fort Myers Police Department’s Special Investigations Group with the assistance of S.W.A.T., Patrol Division and the C.O.P.E. Unit conducted two lawful search warrants. The first search warrant took place at 2841 Evans Avenue. The investigation was initiated by detectives in reference to cocaine being sold and stored at the home.
Police seized the following evidence:
- 1 grams of MDMA24 grams of cocaine hcl
- 17 grams of cocaine base “crack”
- 20 pills of Hydromorphone (controlled substance)
- 17 grams of an unknown powder substance (FDLE will conduct further analysis to identify)
- 1 Bersa 380 semi-automatic handgun
The street value of the combined drugs is estimated at $3,700.
During the Evans Avenue investigation, intelligence shared between the Lee County Sheriff’s Office and FMPD led detectives to a second address located at 2560 Kennesaw Street. LCSO undercover detectives had purchased illegal narcotics from a suspect at the address. FMPD executed a search warrant at the address and arrested Crews.
