CAPE CORAL, Fla.- Former mayoral candidate Stephen Lovejoy was arrested in November after allegedly violating a stop work order.
Investigators with the Florida Division of Workers Compensation observed Lovejoy's business, Advanced Forms and Printing, operating under stop work order on November 19.
When investigators confronted Lovejoy on November 26, he said he was aware and was working with a workers comp investigator.
Lovejoy was transported to the Lee County Jail. He was released about three hours later, after posting a $1,500 bail.
According to our partners at the News-Press, Lovejoy heads http://capcapetaxes.com/, a website dedicated to opposing increased and additional city taxes.
Lovejoy is president of the Cape Coral Republican Club, according to the group’s website, and he ran for Cape Coral mayor in 2009, but lost the election.
