FORT MYERS BEACH, Fla.- Lee County Sheriff's deputies arrested Tara Lynn Henry, 29, for allegedly stabbing a cab driver near Fairweather Lane around 8:00 p.m. last night.
Deputies spoke with the victim in Lee Memorial Hospital, where he was being treated for two stab wounds to the abdomen. He said a female suspect matching Henry's description asked to be taken to Times Square, but then changed her mind and requested she be taken to Lighthouse Inn. Once there, the suspect reportedly asked for change for a $50. The victim pulled out his wallet and put it on his lap. At that time, Henry reached from the back seat and grabbed it, according to the victim. Then, a struggle ensued. The victim put the suspect in a headlock to keep her from successfully taking off with his wallet. They both spilled out of the vehicle from the front seat, and continued to struggle on the ground as the victim yelled for help.
Henry then fled the scene, leaving the knife behind, according to the victim. He told deputies that he grabbed the knife, threw it in his cab and took off to his father's house for help.
Deputies located at Henry on the 18600 block of San Carlos Blvd. and questioned her about her whereabouts through the day and evening. Meanwhile, the victim positively identified Henry as the suspect from a photo lineup.
Based on the entirety of the investigation, Henry was arrested for robbery with a weapon, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and hiring a vehicle with intent to defraud.
