PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla.- Charlotte County Sheriff's deputies arrested a man and a woman Wednesday night, after they allegedly broke in to a home and attempted to rob the resident at gunpoint.
Deputies were called to a residence in the 3000 block of Lucerne Terrace at about 9:30 p.m. for the report of a home invasion robbery. The victim told deputies that 19-year-old Jonathon Aaron Gander, and a woman he didn’t know entered his house through a side door.
He told deputies that Gander pointed an unknown type handgun at him and demanded his money. The woman stood inside the doorway and was going through the victim’s personal belongings. When the victim turned out his pockets to show he didn’t have any money, Gander and the woman left the house and fled in a newer model, red, Ford vehicle.
About an hour later, deputies stopped a red Ford Focus at Theresa Blvd. and Rutland Circle that was being driven by Gander. The passenger was identified as 18-year-old Hannah Christine Pape. Both Gander and Pape matched the descriptions of the suspects given by the victim.
The victim identified Gander again by a recent photograph and identified Pape from a photo line-up. Both Gander and Pape were arrested and charged with Home Invasion Robbery with a Firearm. They were transported to the Charlotte County Jail where they were being held without bond pending their First Appearance Hearing.
