LEHIGH ACRES, Fla.- Sylvia Thomsen, a Lee County Sheriff's Office employee; her husband, Robert Thomsen, 48; and Justin Thomsen, 18; were arrested early Tuesday morning, after an investigation stemming back to August regarding synthetic narcotics.
Sylvia, a senior clerk at the jail, is now on administrative leave, pending an internal investigation.
Sylvia and Robert face charges of possession of synthetic narcotics and drug equipment. Justin faces a charge of possession of a controlled substance without a prescription.
The Sheriff's Office began their investigation in August after receiving complaints of drug activity taking place at the Thomsen residence.
Today, detectives served a search warrant and found nine bags of "OMG" brand spice on the master bathroom counter, four of which were empty and five of which were partially used. They also found a paper plate, spice, rolling papers and a plastic straw in the same bathroom. The five bags of spice totalled 61 grams.
In the bedroom Justin had been sleeping in, detectives found a pill bottle containing three Oxycodone pills.
After speaking with all three suspects, detectives arrested Sylivia, Robert and Justin, and transported them to the Lee County Jail.
