EVERGLADES CITY, Fla - Authorities on Tuesday released the 911 call made after Sunday's small plane crash in Everglades City.
Four people were aboard the plane when it crashed in 5 feet of water on approach to Everglades City Airpark. The NTSB is investigating the crash, but it could be months before they determine a cause.
After the crash, all 4 passengers crawled out of the Piper P-28 aircraft and sat on the wings until emergency crews could arrive. A nearby boater gave emergency dispatch an exact location and stayed with the plane until paramedics were on scene.
All four passengers were transported to the hospital and are expected to recover.
