FORT MYERS, Fla.- Fort Myers Police arrested 49-year-old Fred Moreland for burglary, theft and resisting an officer without violence on Thursday.

Just before 9:00 p.m., FMPD received a call in reference to a burglary in progress on Fowler Street. The caller told police the suspect had smashed out a window and was inside the business, located at 2604 Fowler Street.

FMPD arrived on the scene within a minute of call and spotted the suspect in the parking lot. Upon sight of the officers, Moreland dropped a stolen television and began to run. An officer and his K9, named "Chase," apprehended him.

The investigation continues.
