FORT MYERS, Fla.- Fort Myers Police arrested a 16-year-old accused in a shooting at the intersection of Lora Street and Luray Avenue that happened September 9th.
The suspect was arrested Monday for aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and unlawful possession of a firearm by a minor.
The victim was found suffering from a gunshot wound and was transported to Lee Memorial Hospital for treatment. He survived his injury.
Detectives spent the next week following leads and gathering evidence in the case which led to the identification of the 16-year-old as the suspect.
Last night, police located the teen walking on Pearl Street and arrested him without incident. The motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
