NAPLES, Fla.- Collier County Sheriff's deputies arrested Donald Bergeron, 53, Monday after he allegedly shared texts and photos with a teenager, and ultimately planned to meet up with him for sex.
Bergeron faces charges of using a computer to seduce, solicit or lure a child, and traveling to meet a child after using a computer.
According to his arrest report, Bergeron carried on a month-long conversation through text messages with an undercover agent, posing as a 15-year-old boy, that led to a meeting at a Circle K on Monday morning.
The investigation began on August 1, when the two discussed school, age and address, before the conversation turned to sexual acts. Deputies said Bergeron acknowledged that the "child" was underage.
When Bergeron arrived at the agreed-upon location, he was identified, handcuffed and transported to the Naples Jail.
