LEE COUNTY, Fla.- Former Lee County Sheriff's deputy and Punta Gorda Police officer Gina Wiseley was arrested yet again on shoplifting charges.
Lee County Sheriff's deputies arrested Wiseley just before 4:30 p.m. on Friday after a security guard at Target, located on Mediterranean Dr., claimed he saw her put a small speaker set and two digital cameras in her purse. She allegedly made no attempt to pay for the items, and exited the store. The guard convinced Wiseley to return to the Loss Prevention office where he called LCSO.
The total value of the property stolen was $549.97.
Wiseley reportedly confessed to the crime. She was arrested for Grand Theft, and transported to the jail.
Cape Coral Police arrested Wiseley in July for allegedly stealing an iPad from Walmart. At the time, Wiseley said medications caused her to black out and the crime must have happened during one of those notorious episodes.
Wiseley was fired from the Lee County Sheriff's Office in 2004 for causing damage while chipping golf balls in the agency's major crimes unit area. She was a detective at the time.
Wiseley was rehired in 2005, but resigned less than two months later during an internal investigation into a video online of her dancing naked in Fantasy Fest 2001.
In 2007, she was fired by the Punta Gorda Police department after an internal affairs investigation determined she twice disobeyed orders not to discuss an investigation into the viewing of the tape by other officers, a spokesman said at the time.
