PUNTA GORDA, Fla. - Detectives from the Economic Crimes Unit are requesting assistance in identifying a man who used a fraudulent credit card to purchase several thousand dollars’ worth of merchandise in Lee County.
On May 22, detectives arrested Nathan Garced, 33, of 1476 Kenesaw Street in Port Charlotte, on multiple charges, including Possession of Credit Card Making Equipment and Criminal Use of Personal Identification. Garced is still being held at the Charlotte County Jail on a $16,500 total bond.
At the time of the Garced’s arrest in May, detectives found the bank information from someone else encoded on a credit card in Garced’s name. During the investigation, detectives learned that the same victim’s credit card information had been similarly encoded on cards used by a Black male to make several thousand dollars’ worth of purchases in Lee County.
Detectives in both Lee and Charlotte are attempting to identify the male who was driving a black vehicle, possibly a Chrysler 500. Anyone with information that could assist with identifying this man is asked to please call either the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office at (941) 639-2101, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office at (239) 477-1000 or Crime Stoppers at 800-780-TIPS (8477).
