NAPLES, Fla.- The Collier County Sheriff's Office arrested 21-year-old Andres DeLeon Wednesday, after allegedly hitting two pedestrians with his sister's vehicle on the Fourth of July and fleeing the scene.
Deputies were called to the scene at 5th Avenue S. at 3rd Avenue S. at 7:40 p.m. One of the pedestrians was taken to Naples Community Hospital, while the other was treated by EMS and released on the scene.
The pedestrians said the driver was a male, and the vehicle that hit them was a black Mercedes with the tag BGSB37.
Just after 9:30 p.m., the vehicle was located on the 400 block of 9th St. S. Deputies spoke with the female driver who said she was home sleeping at the time of the crash. She said her brothers were the only other people with access to her vehicle.
DeLeon was located on Wednesday and interviewed. Afterward, he was taken into custody for violation of right of way to pedestrian in a crosswalk and for leaving the scene of a crash with injuries.
