Naples, Fla.- A 30-year-old man is under arrest after Collier County deputies say he attacked a Taxi driver during the drive home from a Naples bar.
According to Thomas Mead's arrest report, a driver for Paradise Taxi picked Mead up early Sunday morning from Blue Martini. Mead, who was in the back seat, became enraged and yelled at the driver to take him home or he would kill him. Deputies say Mead then jumped into the front seat and punched the driver with a closed fist. The driver said he immediately turned the vehicle off, grabbed the keys, jumped out of the cab and locked the doors with Mead inside.
Mead tried to punch the vehicle's window to get out and again threatened to kill the driver.
Deputies say Mead smelled of alcohol. Once they took him to jail, they used a taser to subdue him.
Mead is charged with battery, assault and resisting arrest.
