CAPE CORAL, Fla. - The Florida Department of Law Enforcement Fort Myers Regional Operations Center and Miami Regional Operations Center Cyber High Tech Squads arrested John Baptista Malheiro, 53, today for 40 counts of possession of files depicting the sexual exploitation of children and one count of computer pornography, both third degree felonies.

FDLE’s Cyber High Tech Squads served a search warrant at Malheiro’s home, located at 715 NE 17th Place, Cape Coral, and located numerous computer videos and images of child pornography. Law enforcement officers and agents from FDLE, Department of Homeland Security Investigations, Cape Coral Police Department, and Fort Myers Police Department executed the search warrant.

Malheiro was booked into the Lee County Jail. The investigation will be prosecuted by the Office of the State Attorney, 20th Judicial Circuit.
