LEE COUNTY, Fla. - Deputies with the Lee County Sheriff's Office arrested a mna over the weekend, after a day at the beach turned bad.

The Lee County Sheriff's Office says it started after two groups of people at the beach, starting fighting. One of the groups left, but two people returned after getting a rifle.

LCSO says those two men then got into fight with the other group who, after seeing the gun, armed themselves with a baseball bat, a knife, and a broke beer bottle.

The two groups began fighting over the control of the rifle, which caused it to fire--hitting a nearby car. A deputy with Lee County heard the gun fire and ran to the scene. Once he arrived, his patrol car was hit by one of the men fleeing the scene.

That man then decided to jump into a canal and swim. Deputies caught him and he taken to the hospital. They haven't released the person's identity, but once he is released from the hospital, he will face several charges including resisting arrest without violence.
