LEHIGH ACRES, Fla.- Lee County Sheriff's deputies arrested 22-year-old Jacob Carr after he allegedly shot his sister's 2-to3-week-old kitten in the leg with a BB gun.
Officers were called to the 500 block of Willard Ave. At 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday and found the kitten with a wound consistent with the victim's story. The victim told deputies what had happened and also turned over two BB guns to the deputies.
According to the report, Carr smelled of alcohol and spontaneously admitted to shooting the cats because he feared they had rabies and would attack him. Deputies said Carr had a rifle on him and another was found nearby, on the back porch.
Carr was arrested for animal cruelty.
It is unknown whether the kitten survived.
