GOLDEN GATE, Fla.- Inside Andrea Michna's North Naples home are reminders of her two Samoyeds, Ava and Snowdot.

"They're very friendly dogs, they're sisters," said Michna.

The dogs vanished on Sunday, April 14th.

"It's very hard that they are out there somewhere, I'm hoping they're safe and that someone will give them back."

She's handed out fliers, took out an advertisement in the newspaper, and even hired a pet detective.

"I got a call that two dogs fitting that description in Bonita Springs."

But then she turned to deputies for help, after someone sent her threatening text messages. They claimed to be from a woman named Diana, who had her dogs and wanted money.

"Basically he said if you don't give me the dollars I will kill your dogs and send them pictures of them dead," said Michna.

She followed the suspect's demands and brought deputies with her to make the exchange. A cell phone was in plain view in the center console of Cyr's car. A detective called the phone number that the suspect used to call Michna and the phone in Cyr's car began to ring. They arrested Dathan Cyr for extortion. Officials said the 43 year old confessed to the crime, but the dogs are still missing.

"I just hope theyre safe, somebody has them somebody sees this so they'll give them back to us."
