CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla.- Charlotte County deputies arrested Chad Hayes, 26, on Tuesday after he allegedly broke into four homes in the Port Charlotte/Englewood area between April 10th and 16th.

In all cases, the victims said the suspect threw a cement landscape block through their windows. They said the stolen property included a diamond ring, laptop, pre-paid gift cards and $500 in cash, & a SCUBA set. Deputies said Hayes left a pair of sunglasses at one of the scenes, near a broken window. Investigators used his palm print to link him to the scene.

Hayes is also accused of selling stolen guns and power tools to a pawn shop.

Deputies found Hayes at a recovery home for addicts on Dorion St. in Port Charlotte, with some of the stolen property in his posession.

Hayes faces 19 charges, including violation of probation.
