COLLIER COUNTY, Fla.- A civilian supervisor in the Collier County Sheriff's Office Communications Bureau was arrested Tuesday and charged criminally as a result of a fraud investigation.

Amanda Bowling, 35, is charged with grand theft. An investigation determined that Bowling falsified her time card multiple times between Jan. 4, 2012, and Aug. 29, 2012. As a result, Bowling received $5,573.25 that she did not earn.

The fraud was discovered during a routine time card audit. Once the facts were established the investigation was provided to the State Attorney’s Office, which issued an arrest warrant.

At the beginning of the investigation Bowling was placed on administrative duty and relieved of her supervisory responsibilities. At the time of her arrest Tuesday she was placed on administrative leave without pay pending the outcome of this case. A separate investigation into the matter is being conducted by CCSO’s Professional Responsibility Bureau.
