LEHIGH ACRES, Fla.- A Lehigh Acres man was arrested after allegedly assisting in the theft of an Xbox gaming system from his employer. Another suspect is still being sought.
Authorities say 25-year-old Carl Harper was jailed on charges of grand theft on March 26th after store managers at the Walmart, located on Lee Boulevard, caught him on surveillance video helping an unknown man conceal an Xbox gaming system. While Harper paid the price for his role in the crime, in the form of a felony grand theft charge, the other man has yet to be identified and arrested.
The suspect being sought was wearing a red cap and left the store with the $300 device hidden underneath an oversized shirt, bypassing all registers and walking away with the stolen property, thanks to assistance from Harper.
Anyone with information on the identify of the white male in the red cap attached to this release is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477). All callers will remain anonymous and will be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.
