LEE COUNTY, Fla.- A Department of Children and Families employee has been fired following his Wednesday arrest on charges of drug possession, battery on an officer and having a weapon while committing a felony, according to our partners at the News-Press.
Raymond Denson Jr., 29, of Lehigh Acres, was hired as a child protective investigator by DCF in 2011, according to DCF spokeswoman Terri Durdaller.
Denson was pulled over by police for illegal window tint, which led to the discovery of marijuana seeds and 1.8 grams of heroin. Denson refused to cooperate with police, allegedly striking an officer twice in the abdomen with his knee at one point.
There are no disciplinary reports in Denson's personnel file with DCF.
