fORT MYERS, Fla.- On Thursday, December 27, 2012 the Fort Myers Police Department’s Special Investigations Group with assistance from uniformed officers began arresting people in connection with a street level narcotics investigation.

So far, police have arrested 10 people in the investigation that targeted drug dealers in the Central and Dunbar sections of the City. During the three month long investigation undercover detectives purchased drugs from 22 people many of them in one particular neighborhood along the Henderson Avenue and Lincoln Boulevard corridor.

The investigation stemmed from documented drug patterns and other investigative techniques. The arrests are in addition to the 23 arrests last month in the same area. The majority of the sales took place near public schools, day care facilities and churches.

Police are still actively looking for 12 more suspects.
