NORTH PORT, Fla.- North Port Police have arrested two suspects in a baseball equipment theft from North Port High School.
On Wednesday at 4:00 p.m., detectives arrested 19-year-old Joshua Douglas Luff and 18-year-old Edward Lee Brandon Hignutt, both of 6484 Lapidus Road.
Both subjects admitted to the offense and were charged with Burglary and Grand Theft. They were transported to South Sarasota County Jail.
On November 15th, officers met with the school's baseball coach, Rob Rowe, and assistant principal, Ron Corso, in regards to a burglary of a storage facility on campus and a subsequent grand theft of nearly $6,300 in baseball equipment.
The equipment is being recovered at this time.
