DEEP CREEK, Fla.- Charlotte County Sheriff's deputies arrested a Fort Myers man for walking out of Walmart near Deep Creek on Monday with two 32-inch flat screen televisions. Donald Kirk Berry, 50, of 327 Flamingo Circle, was charged with Grand Theft and Violation of Lee County Felony Probation.
Walmart security called CCSO to report they observed Berry put the two televisions in a cart and left the building without paying for them. A deputy quickly responded and stopped Berry in the parking lot with the two TVs.
Berry told the deputy he was, “Almost done with being on parole.”
The TVs were valued at $496.
CCSO Communications ran a check on Berry that showed he was on active felony probation in Lee County and the Wal-Mart arrest violates his probation. He was transported to the Charlotte County Jail where he remains on no bond.
