BRADENTON, Fla.- The Charlotte County Sheriff's Office was advised that two men with family ties in Charlotte County turned themselves in Monday with their attorney in Bradenton. Local Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Task Force Officers went to Bradenton to arrest them. They were transported to the Lee County Jail to face the DEA charges. The pair also had ties in the Florida Keys.
George “Tommy” Capps, 36, and Michael Cristello, 44, were both arrested on Conspiracy to Possess with Intent to Distribute over 1,000 Kilograms of Marijuana. Capps was arrested twice by CCSO deputies on Jan. 9, 2003 and July 23, 2008. The DEA issued warrants for Capps and Cristello and the CCSO issued a press release on Oct. 22.
