Fort Myers Police Department’s Alpha shift and the Violent Crimes Task Force arrested two men Saturday afternoon they say were burglarizing a business.
At 2:22 p.m. police received a call of a burglary in progress to Le Barr Equipment located at 4028 Edison Avenue. Responding officers located the two suspects running through the parking lot of 2220 Rockfill Road.
Officers quickly established a perimeter. Officer PhillipYoungblood started a track with his K-9 partner. Officer Youngblood located Montez James hiding in a concrete culvert. James was taken into custody without incident by Officer Ashley Schindler. Officer Youngblood continued his area search in an attempt to locate the second suspect. At 3:18 p.m. Officer Youngblood and his K-9 located Matthew Mangham hiding under a trailer. Officer Tony Browntook Mangham into custody without incident.
The victim positively identified both James and Mangham as the perpetrators who were burglarizing his business. Police arrested Matthew Mangham (d.o.b. 03-10-93) and Montez James (d.o.b. 03-24-91) for burglary, grand theft and resisting arrest without violence.
