COLLIER COUNTY, Fla.- Collier County Sheriff's deputies arrested 21-year-old Miguel Ixcotoyac on sexual battery charges on victims under the age of 12. The suspect allegedly lost his cell phone in California and pornographic images were found on the memory card.

On July 19th, CCSO was contacted by officers in Fresno, California, after tracing Ixcotoyac back to Florida.

Ixcotoyac, moved to Fresno, California from Naples within the past few months. When he moved to Fresno, he lost his cell phone. After allegedly losing the phone, a homeless man named "Roger" found it. Roger tried to sell the phone. In order to determine if the phone worked, the potential buyer took the memory card out of the phone and put it in his phone, he looked through the contents and observed two videos of two young girls being sexual abused by an adult male; he brought the phone to the Fresno Police Department.

Detectives were able to locate the suspect and he was subsequently arrested for the associated crimes. During questioning, the suspect admitted to some sort of involvement with one child in February and the other in May.

The two juvenile females were located. Forensic interviews and medical exams were scheduled to be conducted in July.

The investigation continues. 

An affidavit explains the explicit details of the alleged crimes.

The arrest warrant was issued in August, but Ixcotoyac didn't turn himself in to the Collier County Sheriff's Office until October 1.

He is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday.
