LEE COUNTY, Fla.- Lee County Sheriff's deputies arrested 31-year-old Alain Bouzi on Thursday on counterfeit credit card trafficking charges.
Bouzi was stopped at mile marker 143 on I-75 after following another vehicle too closely and not wearing a seat belt. Officers immediately discovered a plastic Target bag containing multiple Target gift cards on the front seat and later noticed a bag of what appeared to be marijuana in plain view.
According to the arrest report, Bouzi appeared nervous when giving deputies his Delaware driver's license. A computer check revealed Bouzi had been arrested in New York, New Jersey, Indiana and Connecticut on marijuana and fraudulent credit card charges.
A search of the vehicle revealed 80 fraudulent credit cards and 32 gift cards. A laptop and credit card scanner were located in the trunk. Fifteen of the cards found were confirmed to have stolen credit card information programmed on them.
Bouzi was arrested and transported to the Lee County Jail.
