NORTH PORT, Fla.- North Port Police arrested Daniel Naylor in the early morning hours on Thursday after allegedly robbing two victims at gunpoint, in the area of Alam Ave and Trionfo Ave.

The victims stated that a white male, later identified as Naylor, displayed a handgun and stole money from them at gun point. He then fled the area in a grayish colored BMW. They believed he was accompanied by a white female with blond hair. The suspect was known by the victim.

As officers were investigating this incident, the vehicle was located at a residence in the 6700 block of Miro Ct. The area was secured by officers in an attempt to make contact with the suspect(s).

Upon making contact with the occupants, a white female, who is believed to be the one seen inside the suspect vehicle, surrendered to officers.

Witness stated the suspect was also inside the residence and was the sole occupant remaining. Attempts were made to have the suspect surrender to no avail.

The Charlotte County SWAT Team responded to the location. After a period of time, it was learned that the suspect was not at the residence, however, was found and arrested at a different location.

The suspect has been charged with robbery with a firearm and attempted robbery with a firearm and will be transported to the Sarasota County Jail. The investigation remains on-going and additional charges/arrest may be forthcoming.
