PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla.- UPDATE: Shane Marcus Poling, 40, 18227 Ackerman Avenue, Port Charlotte, was arrested Wednesday following a SWAT and Narcotics Unit raid on his home. At the Charlotte County Jail, Poling was additionally charged with Sale and Delivery of Hydromorphone and Possession of Hydromorphone from an Aug. 6 undercover narcotics buy that led to the search warrant being executed for the raid on his home.
ORIGINAL REPORT: Charlotte County Sheriff's Narcotics Unit detectives assisted by the SWAT team raided a Port Charlotte home this morning around 9:30 a.m. and arrested two people on various drug charges. Shane Marcus Poling, 40, and John Duncan McNamara Jr., 42, who lived in the home at 18227 Ackerman Avenue, were arrested.
A Narcotics detectives investigation led to obtaining a search warrant and entered the home where four people were present. A search of one bedroom located a safe that Poling provided the combination. When opened, detectives found several bottles of pills including Clonazepam and Carisoprodol, and a package containing a Fentanyl patch, and marijuana.
A search of the garage located marijuana, a grinder, digital scale, a metal pipe, rolling papers, and three cut straws and burnt Brillo that tested positive for Cocaine. In Poling’s truck detectives located marijuana cigarettes, marijuana in a plastic bag and rolling papers.
Poling and McNamara were arrested and transported to the Charlotte County Jail. Poling was charged with Possession of Clonazepam, Possession of Fentanyl, Possession of Cocaine, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. This is Poling’s 10th booking. McNamara was charged with Possession of Cocaine, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Bond was set for Poling at $9,500 and McNamara at $4,500.
