FORT MYERS, Fla.- Lee County deputies arrested the Technology Specialist of Riverdale High School on fraud charges after electronics went missing from the school.

An annual inventory revealed the missing items. Dale Harper was contacted regarding the whereabouts of the items, as maintaining the inventory was part of his duties. The 35-year-old Technology Specialist had recently been suspended from his position after he had been under the influence of an unknown substance while at school.

Based on the conversation, Harper drove to the school and returned computers, laptops, monitors, speakers and iPads. No explanation was given for why the property was in his possession.

Over the next several weeks, 123 pawn slips from various shops documenting items belonging to the Lee County School District that had been pawned by Harper were discovered. The total value of property pawned by Harper over the course of two years was in excess of $50,000.
