CAPE CORAL, Fla.- On Monday, Cape Coral Police arrested Robert Anthony Pagano on two counts of Aggravated Assault with a Firearm for threatening two Century Link employees who had knocked on his door to advise him that they would be working in the area.
Cape Coral Police were called to 315 SE 22nd Terrace at 10:30 a.m. by the two employees who told officers that they had knocked on Pagano’s door to inform him that they would be on his property along with his neighbors’ property to repair some phone lines.
There was no answer at Pagano’s door and the workers walked to the driveway across the street and began discussing their plan to begin the repairs when they say Pagano emerge from his home pointing a handgun at them. Pagano pointed the gun at the workers with his finger on the trigger and was shouting threats to the workers.
Officers arrived and detained Pagano for questioning. When questioned initially, Pagano told officers that he did not walk outside with his gun but later changed his story and admitted that he did indeed walk outside armed with his .38 revolver.
Pagano was arrested on the charges and taken to the Lee County Jail. Tuesday morning, he received a $2,500 bond on each count of Aggravated Assault with a Firearm, plus pre-trial supervision. Also, he has to surrender all of his weapons and cannot contact with the victims.
